Job summary

Avalon View Health and Wellness in Liberty, MO is seeking a caring Activity Assistant to support residents through engaging daily programs. You’ll help plan arts, games, exercise, and community outings, working alongside the Activity Director to honor each resident’s interests and abilities.

This role focuses on creating a warm, inclusive environment, encouraging participation, maintaining activity records, and assisting with supplies and calendars, while promoting joy and connection for older

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Activity certification preferred.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Experience leading recreational or social programs within the last five years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading daily activity programs such as arts & crafts, games, music, exercise, educational sessions, religious services, and community outings.
• Encourage residents to participate in group and one-on-one activities.
• Help maintain accurate activity documentation (with training).
• Support the Activity Director with supply ordering, receipts, and monthly activity calendars.
• Maintain resident preference lists, precautions, and activity limitations.
• Help facilitate Resident Council meetings when needed.
• Participate in planning special events involving residents, families, staff, and the community.
• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all residents.

Education

High school diploma

Activity certification (preferred)

Experience in long-term care (preferred)

Experience leading recreational or social programs in last 5 years (preferred)
