Job summary

Hartland Park Health & Rehabilitation in Lexington, Kentucky seeks an Activities Assistant to plan, coordinate and lead daily resident activities in our skilled nursing facility. This full-time role supports social interaction, physical activity and emotional well-being for seniors.

You’ll organize group and one-on-one programs, help with events, transport residents as needed, maintain supplies, and document participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in activities, recreation, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to work well with elderly populations and individuals with cognitive impairments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and leading daily activity programs, including group and one-on-one activities.
• Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs.
• Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations.
• Help transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Maintain activity supplies and assist with setting up and cleaning up events.
• Document resident participation and attendance.
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to appropriate staff.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Ensure activities are appropriate to residents’ abilities and interests.

Position Summary:

The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in a skilled nursing facility.
