Job summary

The Resident of North Ridge in New Hope, MN is hiring an Activities and Transportation Assistant to support the TR program and meet residents’ physical, mental, and social needs. Responsibilities include planning activity programs, coordinating outings and transporting residents, conducting one-to-one visits, and assisting with events while maintaining records and safety checks.

This full-time role runs 9am–5:30pm.

Qualifications

• Must be 24+ years old with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no revocations, suspensions, or cancellations in the last 5 years).
• Ability to pass an MN DOT physical.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and transport residents to programs.

Description

The Recreation Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of our TR program which meets the physical, mental, psycho‑social and spiritual needs of our residents.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a special interest in working with geriatric residents. In addition, the individual must assume responsibility for learning and following therapeutic recreational techniques and documentation procedures. Position requires the ability to generate enthusiasm during programs and be willing to participate in special events. Excellent communication skills are needed. The ability to follow oral and written directions is needed as well.

Job Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Safely transport vulnerable adults and seniors, adhering to MN Department of Transportation and STS regulations.
• Assist clients to and from the vehicle as needed.
• Understand and follow schedules, special trip requests, and transport groups as assigned.
• Adhere to all laws, company procedures, and safety precautions, including weather and road conditions.
• Ensure proper restraint of wheelchair passengers and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
• Building meaningful relationships with the community, assisting where needed.

WORK SCHEDULE

This Full‑time position is mid‑day hours 9am-5:30pm.
