Arbutus Park Retirement Community, located in Richland Township, is a licensed ContinuingCare Retirement Community offering independent living cottages and townhouses for seniors, as well as personal care, skilled nursing care, short term rehab care, and the finest Alzheimer’s and dementia care in the region.

Our beautiful 29 acre campus was once a summer recreation park and church camp. Today, we are a locally managed, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving older adults. We have a historical relationship with the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Job Description

Our Activity Assistants are an important part of our company. We are looking for a creative, energetic and caring candidate to join our team.

• Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities in accordance with their interests.

Qualifications

Candidate must be responsible and have an excellent attendance record.

Activities experience in assisted living or long term care preferred but will train the right candidate.

Other Requirements

• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must be willing to leave the facility on occasion for outings.
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of different individuals, displaying consistent patience, positive attitude, and enthusiasm toward the objectives of the department and facility.
• Ability to effectively interact with facility residents in a professional, respectful and positive manner with appropriate awareness of and consideration for their specific clinical level of function.
• Must be willing to work morning, day and evening shifts - 7 days a week to include holidays.
• Basic computer proficiency desired.

Background Check and Medical Requirements

The selected applicant must consent to and successfully complete a criminal record check, TB test, medical and physical examination as well as a drug screen prior to employment.
