Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking an Activities Aide to join our team in Maine. This full-time role focuses on planning, organizing, and leading engaging activities to support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.

You'll build relationships with residents, collaborate with nursing staff, and help create meaningful daily experiences through games, crafts, music, movement, and social events. CNA certification is required.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification required.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in long‑term care or activities preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily activities and programs for residents.
• Encourage resident participation and engagement.
• Support activities including games, crafts, music, exercise, community outings, and special events.
• Provide one‑on‑one interaction with residents as needed.
• Transport residents to and from activities when necessary.
• Maintain activity supplies and assist with decorating for holidays and events.
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other departments to ensure residents’ needs are met.
• Document participation and attendance as required.

Join Our Team as an Activities Aide!

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Aide to join our team full-time! In this role, you will help create meaningful experiences for our residents by planning and leading engaging activities that support their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Activities Aide Schedule

• Full-Time – 40 hours per week
• Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Includes every other weekend

Activities Aide Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily activities and programs for residents

• Support activities including games, crafts, music, exercise, community outings, and special events
