Job summary

LiveWell Lancaster is seeking an Activities Assistant to connect with residents, coordinate group and individual activities, and promote engagement and well-being in our long-term care community.

You will lead recreational and therapeutic activities, accompany residents to events, prepare supplies, and support volunteers, with a focus on safety and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living setting preferred.
  • Interest or background in recreation, social work, or healthcare support roles is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recreational, sensory, or therapeutic activities tailored to residents' needs and abilities.
  • Encourage resident participation and provide companionship.
  • Assist with planning and executing facility-wide events; Transport and escort residents to and from activity areas or outings.
  • Maintain and organize activity supplies and materials.
  • Support meal assistance and one-on-one resident visits.
  • Supervise and guide volunteers during activity programs.

What You'll Do:

As an Activities Assistant, you'll play a key role in enriching the lives of our residents by coordinating and leading both group and individual activities designed to promote engagement, independence, and well-being. You'll work alongside other team members to:

  • Lead recreational, sensory, or therapeutic activities tailored to residents' needs and abilities
  • Encourage resident participation and provide companionship
  • Assist with planning and executing facility-wide eventsTransport and escort residents to and from activity areas or community outings
  • Maintain and organize activity supplies and materials
  • Support meal assistance and one-on-one resident visits
