Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes in Maine is seeking an Activities Aide to join our full-time team. You will plan and lead engaging activities to support residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being.

The schedule is 40 hours per week, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with every other weekend. A CNA certification is required, and you should be compassionate, patient, and able to work both independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification required.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in long‑term care, assisted living, recreation, or activities preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily activities and programs for residents
• Encourage resident participation and engagement
• Support activities including games, crafts, music, exercise, community outings, and special events
• Provide one‑on‑one interaction with residents as needed
• Transport residents to and from activities when necessary
• Maintain activity supplies and assist with decorating for holidays and events
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other departments to ensure residents’ needs are met
• Document participation and attendance as required
