Job summary

Merrill Gardens at Sherwood is seeking an Active Living Assistant - Driver to create engaging experiences for residents and help them stay active and socially connected.

In this role you will plan and lead activities, coordinate outings, accompany residents to appointments, and track participation, while ensuring safety and high-quality care.

The position emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and flexibility, with opportunities for growth in a supportive, family-owned senior living community.

Qualifications

• Plan, coordinate and lead engaging activities.
• Encourage participation in cultural, educational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social activities.
• Transport or accompany residents to outings, shopping trips, and appointments while prioritizing safety and comfort.
• Track resident participation and report to the Active Living Program Director.
• Prepare activity calendars and communications for residents, families, and prospective residents.
• Set up and clean up activities, manage supplies, and celebrate birthdays/anniversaries.
• Support community tours and assist with other department needs.
• Maintain community vehicles and report any vehicle concerns.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging activities and events based on resident interests.
• Coordinate outings and assist residents to participate safely.
• Monitor participation, report to program director, and adjust programming.
