Job summary

Merrill Gardens at Sherwood is seeking a dedicated Senior Living Active Living Assistant to support residents on their wellness journey within a vibrant community. This full-time role focuses on engaging activities that enhance dignity and independence for our seniors.

You will collaborate with the Active Living Program Director, lead program activities, and coordinate family events while maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanor. Training and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; college degree or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience, training, or equivalent combination.
• Prefer social activity involvement.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Active Living Program Director to design activities for residents transitioning from AL to Memory Care.
• Deliver, lead, or conduct program activities timely and effectively.
• Coordinate at least one family activity per month.
• Present a professional demeanor that reflects service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident needs.
• Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community.
• Observe resident’s ability to perform daily ADLs and social skills; communicate to the appropriate Team Member.
• Encourage and motivate residents in all areas, aiding when necessary.
• Participate in all training offered by employer.
• Assume the duties and functions of Activities staff in their absence.
