Job summary

Lipscomb University’s College of Pharmacy seeks an Active Learning Community (ALC) Peer Leader. This student worker role hosts weekly sessions to promote understanding, retention, and community within the supplemental instruction model.

Responsibilities include designing activities, preparing materials, coordinating with faculty, and maintaining open communication with the Program Director. Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills are essential; federal work‑study

Qualifications

  • Enrolled student in the Lipscomb College of Pharmacy
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Received the minimum of a B in the course(s) you intend to support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A commitment to helping other students learn

Responsibilities

  • Designs and facilitates interactive learning activities and exercises that integrate study strategies with course content review
  • Prepares session/presentation materials in advance with questions/problems/activities to be covered during the session
  • Initiates and attends all scheduled meetings with the course related faculty
  • Communicates regularly with the Director of the Active Learning Community Program
  • Models outstanding professionalism
  • Conducts ALC sessions as scheduled in the College of Pharmacy schedule
