Job summary

Togetherhood is seeking an enthusiastic Acting instructor to teach K-12 students across Washington DC. You will develop age‑appropriate curriculum, lead weekly in‑person classes, and create a structured, inclusive classroom.

This contracted role pays per class, lasts 6 to 18 weeks per assignment, and offers flexible scheduling within the DC area. Prior experience with school‑age learners and a passion for hands‑on projects is essential.

What You’ll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Acting to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Wash DC. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.


As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:



  • Develop age‑appropriate Acting curriculum for after‑school students

  • Lead weekly in‑person classes with enthusiasm and expertise

  • Establish a well‑structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged

  • Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels

  • Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment

  • Track student growth and offer positive, helpful feedback

  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach

  • Create a memorable experience for the children in your class


Who You Are

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:



  • Has subject matter expertise in Acting

  • Has a passion and skill for building hands‑on projects with kids

What To Expect

  • Candidates advancing from screenings will have a second video interview, in which we will ask you to share a sample lesson plan

Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per‑student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.
