Job summary

Resources for Human Development is seeking a Substance Use Specialist to join its ACT/ACT Plus multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on assessment, treatment, recovery support, and case management for individuals with co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing counseling, and developing person-centered treatment plans with partner providers and the ACT team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, Human Services, or related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals in addiction recovery or substance use treatment.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in counseling, behavioral health, or substance use treatment services.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive substance use and co-occurring disorder assessments.
• Provides individual counseling and therapeutic interventions for individuals with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use disorders.
• Utilizes evidence-based practices and recovery-oriented approaches to treatment.
• Develops individualized treatment and recovery plans in partnership with participants.
• Coordinates treatment recommendations with other providers and ACT team members.
• Maintains HIPAA-compliant documentation and records.
• Advocates for participant needs with service providers and community partners.
• Monitors participant outcomes and progress toward treatment objectives.
