Located in beautiful Miami Gardens, Florida, near Hard Rock Stadium—home of the Miami Dolphins! This is an exciting opportunity to help young adults move beyond their initial Job Corps training and take the next step toward college, advanced training, career development, and long-term success. As the Advanced College Training/Off-Center Training (ACT/OCT) Coordinator, you will manage and oversee the Center’s ACT and Off-Center Training programs while serving as a mentor, counselor, advocate, and educational resource for students. You’ll help students identify opportunities, navigate the enrollment process, remain engaged in their programs, overcome challenges, and successfully progress toward completion. You will also serve as a key liaison between the Miami Job Corps Center and local colleges, universities, community organizations, employers, and other Job Corps centers. What You'll Do

Guide Students Toward Higher Education & Advanced Training

  • Manage and oversee the Advanced College Training and Off-Center Training programs.
  • Determine student suitability and eligibility for enrollment in accordance with Department of Labor policies and established requirements.
  • Help maintain full enrollment in ACT and Off-Center Training programs.
  • Provide students with individualized case management, mentoring, personal counseling, and career guidance.
  • Establish supportive relationships with students throughout their enrollment.
  • Monitor student progress, retention, attendance, and successful program completion.
  • Provide quality case management and career counseling services for non-residential students.
  • Help students navigate challenges and remain focused on their educational and career goals.

Connect Students to Opportunities

  • Promote and recruit students for advanced training opportunities offered throughout the Job Corps network.
  • Market ACT/OCT and Career Technical Training-aligned advanced training programs.
  • Conduct presentations for students, Job Corps staff, community partners, and employers.
  • Develop positive relationships with other Job Corps centers to increase awareness of advanced training opportunities.
  • Serve as the Center’s primary liaison with local colleges and universities.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with community and business partners that contribute to student success.

Keep Students Connected & On Track

  • Completing and monitoring daily off-center class attendance.
  • Coordinating required student transportation documentation and requests.
  • Completing required meal requests and related documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely student information.
  • Protecting the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive student information and data.
  • Following all established integrity guidelines and procedures.
  • Producing accurate, thorough, and timely reports, assignments, and documentation.

  • Support Center operations and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Preferred: Previous Job Corps or related program experience; Experience working with young adults, higher education, career development, student services, counseling, case management, or workforce development.
