Job summary

Pawnee Mental Health Services in Manhattan, KS, is seeking compassionate clinicians to deliver community-based behavioral health services and support to individuals and families. You will engage clients in school, work, home, and other settings, coordinating care and linking resources to promote recovery.

Responsibilities include outreach, documentation, crisis coordination, driving to community sites, and active participation in supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or equivalent work experience, or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education with one year of experience substituting for one year of education.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • A valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure.
  • Basic personal computer skills which enable the entry, retrieval, and use of electronic data.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services in the community where the consumer may need them, this could include but is not limited to school, work, home, shelter, store, etc.
  • Provide outreach, education, support, referral to services and connection of resources to the consumer and or their family.
  • Show assertive outreach to engage consumers.
  • Work to improve outcomes including hospitalization reduction, increased housing stability, and improvement in overall client quality of life for ACT consumers.
  • Provide ongoing strengths assessment eliciting the consumer and or their family as active participant(s) in determining strengths, wants, needs and preferences.
  • With input from the client, their family and other members of the treatment team develop and document treatment goals and plan related services and activities. Monitor and document progress and concerns adjusting the person centered plan as needed.
  • Advocate for client rights and community integration. Preserve dignity and confidentiality of each person on caseload.
  • Provide individual therapeutic interventions to assist in assessment of symptom management and skill development.
  • Meet administrative and clinical documentation requirements both in terms of content and timeliness.
  • Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision and daily program staffing. Provide input to supervisors and other treatment team members regarding clinical and program issues.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • The provision of crisis management and/or coordination of emergency services during periods of crisis.
  • Take on-call shifts after hours and weekends.
  • Drive to community settings for the delivery of services.
  • Enter and maintain own clinical schedule in the agency electronic health record.
  • Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related specifically to position or to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials or participation in training events as approved or directed by supervisor.
  • Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to all cultural and ethnic difference.
  • Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Complete a state required training specific to the focus of the position. This is required at the first available opportunity.
  • Achieve expected engagement rate as defined by Dartmouth Assertive Community Treatment Scale DACTS.
  • Work cooperatively with the Management Team and other members of the staff in sharing resources and expertise in pursuit of the agency's mission.
  • Perform all other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
