Job summary

The County of Riverside’s Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) seeks to fill a Temporary Assessor-Clerk-Recorder Technician Trainee position. This is a full-time, temporary role located in Riverside, with training in examining records, archiving official records, and serving the public.

The best candidate will have strong organizational skills, good written and verbal communication, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical experience in a field related to the major functions of the ACR.
• Experience reviewing legal documents preferred.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including filing and operating standard office equipment; basic arithmetic; proper telephone and reception techniques.
• Ability to learn to review, understand, apply laws, regulations, and policies governing legal documents; read and interpret maps and property descriptions; perform basic arithmetical calculations; interact with the public.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, research, and provide copies of legal documents, Official Records, and Vital Records under supervision.
• Assist with Marriage Licenses applications and civil ceremonies.
• Process filing of Fictitious Business Name Statements and other filings; review and prepare supporting documents.
• Review, verify and certify Notaries, process servers, and other filings; collect fees.
• Assist with researching and updating property assessment records and tax roll changes.
• Perform clerical tasks including sorting, filing, and inputting data; assist with audit rolls and property tax information.
