Job summary

The Jones Library in Amherst, MA seeks an Acquisitions Coordinator/Reference Specialist to order, process and catalog library materials and to provide excellent patron service at our Information desk. This role balances Technical Services duties with frontline service and instruction in technology and library resources.

Responsibilities include fund tracking, record importing, and coordinating with staff to support community access to library resources.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent, PLUS two years of post-secondary education or training in library science, liberal arts, education or a related field, AND at least two years of experience in library technical services OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrated the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
• Four-year post-secondary education degree (e.g., BA)
• Bilingual capabilities

• Balance Technical Services duties such as fund tracking and record importing with frontline service.
• Provide instruction in the use of technology and library resources.

The Jones Library of the Town of Amherst seeks a detail-oriented, organized and creative Acquisitions Coordinator/Reference Specialist to order, process and catalog library materials, as well as provide excellent patron service at our Information desk. This position balances Technical Services duties, such as fund tracking and record importing, with frontline service including instruction in the use of technology and library resources.
