Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Accounting Manager in the Controllers Accounting Department to lead ACL reporting, analysis, and disclosures. The role supports internal and external reporting, working with finance, risk, and business partners to tell the ACL story each quarter.

Responsibilities include managing ACL processes, backtesting, and presenting data to senior leadership. A CPA is preferred, with at least 5 years in accounting or related fields and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination.

Responsibilities

• Manage ACL disclosure processes for internal management and external SEC and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee ACL backtesting activities providing transparency on performance vs. expectations.
• Serve as subject matter expert over ACL and related metrics.
• Communicate ACL results to stakeholders on a quarterly basis.
• Set the reporting team agenda and lead projects driving strategic imperatives.
• Manage area of the team to elevate performance and maintain a high-performing team.
• Build relationships with business partners including risk management and finance.
• Create ACL analytics and present analyses for executives clearly.
• Review quarterly journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
• Leverage new and existing technologies to enhance reporting and analytics.
• Support ACL compliance activities for management, internal audit and external audit.
