Job summary

Capital One's Controllers Accounting Department seeks a Manager, Credit Accounting to lead ACL reporting and analytics. You will oversee disclosure processes, backtesting, and stakeholder communications, while guiding a team and cross-functional partners to deliver accurate quarterlies and disclosures.

The role requires strong accounting expertise, CPA preferred, and experience with major ERP and reporting systems to drive insightful analysis and improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination.
• CPA license preferred.
• 2 years of banking/financial services experience recommended.
• 1 year of people management experience.
• Strong track record of building relationships within accounting groups and other areas of an organization.
• Experience with Accounting Systems such as Peoplesoft, SAP or Oracle Financials.
• Experience with Reporting systems such as Onestream, Tableau, Google Data Studio.
• Ability to reach well-reasoned conclusions on financial reporting and disclosure issues.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to coordinate work across a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage ACL disclosure processes for internal management and external SEC and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee ACL backtesting to provide transparency on performance vs. expectations.
• Serve as subject matter expert over the ACL and related metrics.
• Communicate ACL results to stakeholders quarterly.
• Set the reporting team agenda and lead projects and strategic topics.
• Manage the team to elevate performance and maintain a high-performing group.
• Build relationships with risk management, finance, and business partners.
• Create dynamic ACL analytics and present analyses to executives clearly.
• Review quarterly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
• Leverage new and existing technologies to enhance reporting and analytics.
• Support ACL compliance activities for management, internal, and external audit.
