Job summary

CASES is seeking a Supervisor for the ACES team in New York. The role leads field-based work with youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system, guiding staff in CBT, youth development and trauma-informed care.

The ACES program focuses on high-risk youth, expanding to Brownsville, with the supervisor role covering staff development, data accuracy and program consistency across boroughs. Salary is $80,000 and hours are 9am-5pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

  • Strong passion for working with youth and young adults affected by the criminal legal system.
  • Willingness to be in the field alongside youth workers.
  • Understanding of the community and its dynamics.
  • Belief in participants' capacity for change.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience or 5 years in youth work with affected youth.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to supporting teammates through challenges.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 15-passenger van.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support youth workers across the ACES program with weekly supervision.
  • Engage with Brownsville/current NYC neighborhoods and dynamics.
  • Hire, train, and support youth workers and parent advocates.
  • Organize professional development on CBT, youth development, and trauma-informed care.
  • Coordinate with Data Analyst for timely data entry by the team.
  • Collaborate with ACES supervisors to ensure consistent programming across boroughs.
  • Develop programming with milestones and standards in mind.
  • Keep assessments and database case records up-to-date.
  • Support and enhance safety plans and protocols.

CASES is seeking a passionate and empathetic Supervisor for their ACES team. The Education, Career and Enrichment department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system and violence.

The Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program serves young men ages 16-24. The program began with services to youth residing in East Harlem or the South Bronx who may not have started but can strive to overcome threatening environments and system-involvement to find the path to success. These young people will be engaged in high-risk behaviors and voluntarily engage with the ACES program.

The ACES program is currently expanding to Brownsville. We are looking for skilled team members who can envision a model based on the theory that young people regardless of roadblocks—violence, trauma, racism, gangs, incarceration, truancy and unemployment—can engage in positive relationships to change behaviors and acquire life, education and employment skills.

The ACES program is in search of a team leader will support team members in developing transformational relationships with participants to support personal reflection and behavioral change.

Salary:

The salary for the ACES Supervisor is $80,000.00.

Shift Hours:

The ACES Supervisor is full-time Monday through Friday 9am-5pm shift.

Workplace Flexibility:

Flexible (for roles that have days that can be partially remote, e.g., being able to draft notes at home after going to the office/community in the morning).

What you will be doing:
  • Supervise and support youth workers across the ACES program this includes individual weekly supervision, regular work in the field and any as-needed case conferences
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Brownsville neighborhood and its dynamics
  • Hire and train new Youth Workers
  • Hire, supervise and support parent advocate
  • Establish professional development opportunities for youth workers and focus on CBT, relevant groups and workshops and delivering effective services to youth in ACES
  • Promote staff development and competence through training, coaching and structured supervision in motivational interviewing, youth development, engagement, young adult learning, and trauma-informed care
  • Engage with Data Analyst to support accurate and timely data entry by team
  • Collaborate with ACES supervisors to ensure consistent programming across boroughs
  • Develop programming with milestones and standards in mind
  • Ensure assessments and database case records are up-to-date
  • Support and enhance safety plans and protocols
What we are looking for:
  • Deep passion for working with youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system
  • A willingness to be in the field alongside youth workers
  • Understanding of the community, its needs and cultural dynamics
  • A belief that participants, community members and team members have the ability and capacity for change
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience or 5 years of youth work experience with youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system
  • Strong communication skills including a strong command of Microsoft office
  • A commitment to the team to support them through difficult moments and celebrate the beautiful moments!
  • Active/valid driver's license
  • Ability to drive a 15-passenger van
  • All team members will wear ACES logo apparel during work hours provided by CASES
