The Johnson Controls' Accelerated Commercial Excellence (ACE) Program is an early career 18-month sales development program designed to transform recent graduates into skilled channel or product sales individuals. Over the course of the program, participants receive instructor-led intensive training, hands-on customer experience and mentorship to build technical expertise and sales acumen, preparing them for impactful sales roles within our organization. This program is designed to prepare candidates for product channel sales across seven different Johnson Controls' business units with a single cohort, summer hiring cadence.
In this particular role, you will be supporting Johnson Controls' Industrial Refrigeration (IR) business unit. We are a leading developer and manufacturer of industrial refrigeration and heating. Our modern cooling, heating, and energy tailored solutions will provide you with the ability to reliably and precisely ensure the temperature of your industrial manufacturing process and supply chain. Through our brand FRICK, we've offered food and beverage processing industry solutions like high-quality air handling units and ammonia refrigeration compressors for decades.
During the first six months of the program, the entire ACE cohort will be based out of Milwaukee WI working at Johnson Controls' HQ office in the northwest suburb of Glendale WI. At the end of month six, you will be required to relocate to a predetermined assigned location where upon program graduation you will transition to an inside sales role covering accounts in a specific territory and IR product subgroup. For Summer 2027, we have one (1) available location: Waynesboro PA.
Provide technical, commercial, and product support to HVAC District Sales Managers and accounts
Support Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and multi-channel partners with product training, product selection, pricing, purchase orders, etc.
Provide lead management assistance from website inquiries, webinar attendees, roadshows, etc.
Enable cross-collaboration between customer accounts and warranty, tech support or financing specialists as needed
Attend account planning cadences and contribute to team goal attainment with RSMs
Assist with CRM opportunity pipeline management and account information accuracy
Develop product configuration expertise using our CoolWare selection tool
Prepare, practice and lead internal product presentations (SME) customer-facing training and interactions
Collaborate between the different IR sales subgroups: Food & Beverage (F&B), semi-custom (YPS) and fully custom (OEM) solutions
Attend frequent training sessions to develop foundational IR product knowledge, sales tactics and industry/market trends for industrial air handlers, compressors and condensers
Travel to customer locations and events for additional sales support and shadowing (approximately once or twice per quarter)
Bachelor's degree minimum (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering Degree highly preferred)
Recent graduate or undergraduate senior expecting to graduate between Apr 2027 – Jun 2027. Program starts in Jun 2027
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Must have the ability to be in Milwaukee, WI (Glendale WI) for the first six months of the program, then relocate to predetermined permanent base (Waynesboro PA).
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical internship experience or HVAC industry experience
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Available to travel up to 25% - dependent upon your assignments
