Lockton Affinity, in Overland Park, KS is seeking an Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join our accounting team. Supervises the overall collection of accounts receivable; to ensure timely payment of accounts receivable to prevent financial losses. Overall responsibility for Accounts Receivable functions and development of 3-5 associate direct reports.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors the workload of Accounts Receivable unit to ensure all functions are performed accurately and timely meeting Company standards.
• Reviews department procedures and implements approved process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Prepares and delivers timely performance evaluations for associates supervised.
• Provides training for Accounts Receivable associates.
• Responsible for the accounting onboarding of new programs and or products sold by the Company.
• Makes positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strives to improve service to customers, both internal and external.
• Protects the confidentiality of all information learned by performing the duties of the position.
• Communicates in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment.
• Follows up on problem accounts; obtains information from customers or associate assigned to account or other departments to resolve issues.
• Handles requests for intent to cancel insurance, reinstatement, and cancellation of insurance for non-payment in compliance with cancellation guidelines.
• Reports and discusses potential trouble accounts to Premium Transaction Supervisor, offers solutions for collection and provides recommendations for handling.
• Oversees follow-through efforts on collections resulting from audits.
• Analyzes receivables reports.
• Makes recommendations to Premium Transaction Supervisor regarding account write-offs.
• Could be responsible for month-end closing of assigned agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
• At Least 5 years of experience in the Accounts Receivable field.
• Proven track record of excellent customer service.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to understand, communicate with, find solutions for, deserve respect from and motivate a team of associates.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Products, i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel.

OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to learn other software systems used throughout our company.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a must.
• Demonstrated ability to instill confidence and comfort with customers to facilitate account collection using high degree of tact and diplomacy.
