Job summary

Terral RiverService, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team in Lake Providence, LA. You will manage customer payments, maintain accurate accounts, and support daily accounting operations with a focus on accuracy and professionalism.

The ideal candidate has solid AR experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments to resolve inquiries and ensure timely cash flow.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or accounting is preferred.
• Experience posting journal entries is preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 BC or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments received by check, ACH, wire, and credit card.
• Prepare and complete remote bank deposits.
• Process customer credit applications, verify information, and maintain credit records.
• Record and apply customer payments across multiple company locations.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and unapplied payments.
• Post journal entries with proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate customer account records and file payment documentation.
• Assist with account reconciliations and other accounting duties as assigned.
• Monitor outstanding AR balances and follow up on past-due invoices.
