Job summary

TalentBridge is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a 3-month contract-to-hire engagement in a hybrid setting in Massachusetts. The role focuses on managing customer accounts, applying payments, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting month-end close.

You will work with Finance, Sales, and Operations to ensure accurate invoicing and timely collections, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and onsite Tuesday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing, Collections, or related finance role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis).
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Effective communication and customer-service mindset.
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with SAP, Power BI or other ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts, payments, and outstanding balances.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment disputes.
• Apply customer payments and reconcile to invoices.
• Communicate with customers about balances and payment status.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations to resolve issues.
• Support collections follow-up and ensure timely payments.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate unapplied or incorrect payments.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a collaborative finance team! This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in accounts receivable, billing, collections, cash applications, or general accounting who is looking to expand their experience and grow professionally.

You’ll work alongside experienced finance professionals, interact with different departments, and play an important role in keeping customer accounts accurate and payments running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Help manage customer accounts, payments, and outstanding balances.

• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, deductions, and payment disputes.

• Apply customer payments and match payments to outstanding invoices.

• Communicate with customers regarding account balances, payment status, and billing questions.

• Partner with internal teams to resolve account issues and gather necessary documentation.

• Assist with collections follow-up and help ensure timely payments.

• Reconcile accounts and research unapplied or incorrectly applied payments.

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reporting.

• Support month-end activities and identify opportunities to improve processes.

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Billing, Collections, Cash Applications, or a related Finance role.

• Comfortable working in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and basic data analysis.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to research and resolve discrepancies.

• Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset.

• Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

• Experience with SAP, Power BI, or other accounting/ERP systems is a plus!
