The role records and processes payments, maintains client account records, applies cash receipts, assists with deposits and reconciliations, and supports the Finance Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting preferred.
• Two+ years of accounts receivable, cash application, clerical accounting, or related experience preferred.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with accounting software; ability to learn firm systems.

Responsibilities

• Record and process client and other payments in the accounting system.
• Apply checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit card payments, and other receipts to the correct accounts.
• Research unapplied payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare daily deposits and reconcile receipts with bank activity.
• Maintain client and matter account records and respond to inquiries.
• Assist with aging reports and collections as directed.
• Support month-end/year-end close and audit file requests.
