Job summary

Hawaii Medical Service Association is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to independently process group and direct payments while delivering exceptional customer service. You will manage billing cycles, reconcile deposits, and resolve inquiries related to HMSA's billing systems and processes.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent, strong communication skills, basic MS Office knowledge, and an acceptable credit report.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent education or work experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Must have acceptable credit report to enter position.

Responsibilities

Process bill production for individual subscribers and groups; perform cycle and demand billing.
Process mailed-in and other payments; balance deposits and reconcile accounts.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing and payments promptly and accurately.
Balance and reconcile deposits and record payments to general ledger accounts.
Review delinquency and cancellation letters; maintain accurate reconciliations for accounts.
Handle enrollment and group/subscriber maintenance transactions in HMSA Centers.
