Job summary

Hawai'i Pacific Health in Hawai'i seeks a detail-focused Billing/AR Specialist to manage claims submission and follow-up within the patient accounts department. You will ensure timely invoicing to third-party payers and patients, while resolving payer inquiries and maintaining high service standards.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and 6 months in billing or collections, with knowledge of CPT/ICD coding and health insurance processes. Associate’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of billing or collections experience.
• Working knowledge of health insurance processing and CPT/ICD codes.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration.
• Course in Medical Terminology.
• Course in Medical Records Coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing and account follow-up activity for a fixed portion of the AR cycle.
• Prepare and submit claims and statements to third party payers and patients/guarantors.
• Follow-up on accounts receivable with payers and patients to complete the insurance collection process.
• Handle payer and patient questions/concerns professionally.
