Job summary

Midas Chain in Northvale, NJ is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage cash applications, aging, and customer accounts. You will work closely with the CFO to ensure timely collections and accurate reporting.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits and a professional, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
• Understanding of GAAP.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in A/R, cash application and chargebacks.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables a plus), Word and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of advanced accounting systems (Sage/Peachtree/QuickBooks a plus).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must communicate and follow up effectively with sales department regarding customer accounts in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Close monitoring of A/R aging report to resolve open invoices and past due amounts.
• Update invoices, maintain customer records, run monthly statements.
• Provide customer service regarding account balances, credits, researching short payments and discrepancies.
• Reconcile credit card payments.
• Apply payments for key accounts.
• Track returns for key accounts and work with returns department to resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor and maintain assigned accounts and reduce delinquency when possible.
• Assist with month-end closings and bi-annual bank audits.
• Work with A/R team with calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform other tasks to support the Accounting Department.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be able to micro focus on details, have strong relationship building and follow up skills, be able to manage multiple tasks. Specific experience with cash application, remittances, chargeback resolution, follow up/customer account reconciliation and collections. Strength in analyzing and reporting all related data is preferred as well as the ability to identify issues, be a problem solver and present solutions to the CFO.

Required skills and qualifications include:
