Position: Accounts Receivable Professionals (Associate through Manager Level)

Employment Type: Temporary, Temporary to Hire, or Direct Hire

Compensation: Competitive and flexible, commensurate with experience and level of responsibility

Position Overview

Center Road Search has partnered with an established, publicly traded global manufacturing organization headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, to identify Accounts Receivable professionals across a range of experience levels. Our client operates in a complex, multinational environment, supporting customers across automotive, industrial, and other technology-driven markets.

We are interested in connecting with candidates ranging from early-career Accounts Receivable Associates and Specialists to experienced Analysts, Senior AR Professionals, Supervisors, and Managers. Depending on an individual's experience, availability, and career objectives, opportunities may be structured as temporary, temporary to hire, or direct hire.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across accounting, finance, operations, and customer-facing teams. More senior candidates may have the opportunity to take ownership of processes, improve collections performance, strengthen internal controls, and provide leadership within the AR function.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary depending on experience and position level and may include:

  • Manage and maintain accounts receivable balances, customer accounts, and related financial records.
  • Perform cash application, payment posting, account reconciliation, and investigation of unapplied cash.
  • Monitor customer aging reports, identify delinquent balances, and coordinate collection activities.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment disputes, deductions, and short payments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to resolve outstanding receivables.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
  • Analyze AR aging, DSO, collections trends, and other working capital metrics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline AR workflows, enhance reporting, and improve cash conversion.
  • Support audits, financial reporting requirements, and special projects as needed.
  • For senior-level candidates, provide oversight, guidance, and leadership to AR personnel while driving process improvement and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience

We recognize that successful candidates may come from a variety of professional backgrounds and experience levels. Qualifications will be evaluated relative to the scope and seniority of the opportunity.

  • Professional experience in accounts receivable, collections, cash application, billing, or a related accounting function.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP systems.
  • Understanding of customer account reconciliations, AR aging, and collections processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or another complex business environment is beneficial.
  • Exposure to large ERP platforms, shared services environments, or multi-entity accounting structures is a plus.
  • For senior and management-level professionals, demonstrated experience overseeing AR operations, improving processes, developing team members, or managing collections performance is preferred.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline is beneficial but not required for all levels.
Opportunity & Compensation

Our client is open to evaluating talent at multiple levels within the accounts receivable function, from individuals seeking to further develop their accounting careers to established professionals capable of providing immediate leadership and operational impact.

There is considerable flexibility regarding both employment structure and compensation. Temporary, temporary to hire, and direct hire arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, business needs, and mutual fit.

Compensation will be evaluated individually, with latitude to accommodate a broad range of experience and responsibility.
