Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, ME is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to process and reconcile payments and adjustments. You will review insurance EOBs, route discrepancies to the appropriate teams, and ensure accurate application of payments in the financial system.

The role requires high attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of patient data.

Qualifications

Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
Experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, or related field preferred.
Proficiency with computer systems and data entry.

Responsibilities

Receive payments and allowances from insurance payers and other sources.
Enter payments, allowances, and account adjustments into the financial system.
Review accounts for debit/credit balances and route to collectors and refund processing.
Reconcile bank deposits with payments in the system.
Identify discrepancies and report to supervisor; collaborate with Managed Care team to resolve issues.
Maintain confidentiality when handling patient and financial information.
