Job description

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

Accounts Receivable (AR) is a growing sub-team within the Accounting Operations Team. The Accounting Operations team is responsible for Travel & Expense, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

The AR Department handles billing for our Virtual Card Network (VCN), Brand Sponsored Program (BSP), and Affirm card merchants, as well as processing refunds for customers and merchants.

The AR Lead will set objectives for the AR Team aligning with department goals, manage the team, oversee primary responsibilities, and ensure timely month-end close activities with accurate financial records.

What You'll Do
  1. Manage invoice processing, review for accuracy, and ensure timely payments to merchants and partners.
  2. Handle cash applications, billing adjustments, and maintain AR aging accuracy.
  3. Manage customer refunds processing.
  4. Collaborate with CSMs on merchant deal sensitivities and escalation contacts.
  5. Streamline processes and implement automation related to AR.
  6. Prepare and review journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, and analyze variances during close.
  7. Create and manage metrics, KPIs, documentation, and drive process improvements.
  8. Perform SOX walkthroughs to ensure compliance.
  9. Provide PBCs for audits as requested.
  10. Prepare and distribute ad-hoc reports for management.

Base Pay Grade: H

Equity Grade: 4

New employees typically start at the beginning of the pay range. Affirm offers transparent pay based on factors like location, experience, and skills. Compensation includes base salary, potential equity, stipends, and benefits such as health coverage.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $100,000 - $140,000 annually.

USA base pay range (other states): $88,000 - $128,000 annually.

Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Affirm is a remote-first company, allowing most roles to be performed remotely within the country. Some roles may require occasional office visits.
