Job summary

Carroll School in Massachusetts is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Finance team. This full-time, year-round role reports to the Controller and focuses on accounts receivable, cash flow, and revenue streams from tuition and related programs.

You will process payments, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly journal entries to support accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years accounting experience if holding a Bachelor's degree; or 5+ years with a High School diploma.
• Experience in not-for-profit or school environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for billing inquiries and tuition invoicing.
• Process deposits and record weekly checks and monthly electronic payments.
• Reconcile accounts receivable including tuition, after-school, and special programs.
• Prepare and provide supporting schedules for audits and 990 tax return filings.
• Support month-end close and assist with annual budgets and audits.
