Job summary

Bart’s Electric in Liberty, MO is seeking an organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to support our accounting team on a fast-paced construction projects environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining bookkeeping databases, collecting payments, billing, preparing reports, and assisting AP reconciliation. Previous AR experience in construction and knowledge of AIA documents are a plus; strong attention to detail and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in accounts receivable preferred.
• Experience with construction billing and AIA documents is a plus.
• Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required.
• Administrative experience in the construction industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed.
• Communicate with previous clients to request payment and arrange payment plans.
• Collect payments from customers and record it into the system.
• Create reports and balance sheets documenting profits and losses.
• Update client accounts based on payment or contact information.
• Follow up on credits due from vendors.
• Assist reconciliation of AP statements from vendors monthly.
• Perform routine accounting duties as assigned.

Position Summary

• Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed
• Communicate with previous clients and customers to request payment and arrange payment plans
• Collect payment from customers and accurately record it into the system
• Create reports and balance sheets that document overall profits and losses
• Update client accounts based on payment or contact information
• Follow-up on credits due from vendors.
• Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
• Assist reconciliation of AP statements from vendors monthly
• Other tasks as assigned

Additional Qualifications

• Microsoft Project
• Administrative experience in construction industry
• Problem sensitivity- The ability to identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong, and bringing the problem to the attention of all who can assist in its being solved.
• Learn and implement LEAN and 5S principles and theories.

Position Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous Accounting Experience Required
• Experience with Construction Billing and AIA Documents a plus
• Prior Experience in Accounts Receivable preferred
• Regular, predictable and punctual attendance
