Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Leesburg, VA. The role is hybrid (onsite Tue-Thu) with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule and temp-to-permanent employment. Compensation is $31.00–$33.65 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

This position emphasizes accurate payment posting, account reconciliations, and AR process improvements. You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance to resolve account discrepancies

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounts receivable experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
• Experience with a large ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Apply and post customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Reconcile customer accounts and research unapplied or misapplied cash.
• Generate and review customer invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain and monitor accounts receivable aging.
• Investigate and resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
• Track customer account issues and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
• Support order release activities by reviewing account status and resolving account holds.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance on customer account issues.
• Maintain accurate customer master data and billing information.
• Prepare supporting documentation for accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and established accounting procedures.
• Identify and elevate complex account discrepancies or system‑related issues.
• Analyze customer account activity and recommend solutions to recurring problems.
