Job summary

Amerit Consulting is seeking an AR Collections Specialist for a 6-month contract in Irving, TX (75039). The role is hybrid: mostly remote with in-person training the first 1–2 weeks; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; candidate must be authorized to work in USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined portfolio of accounts and perform daily follow-ups on past-due balances via email, phone, and portals.
• Reconcile misapplied payments, short pays, and remittance discrepancies; investigate chargebacks, refunds, and pricing errors.
• Maintain and analyze AR aging using Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data validation).
• Prepare weekly metrics (DSO, percent current, >90-day trend, dispute cycle times).
• Identify root causes of recurring issues and propose corrective actions; contribute to SOP updates and knowledge bases.
• Support government collections as needed.

Description

• Seeking detail-oriented and results-driven AR Collections Specialists to support the collection process.
• In this role, you will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, drive timely collections, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve cash flow and reduce aged receivables.
• Portfolio Management: Own a defined portfolio of accounts; perform daily follow-ups on past-due balances via email, phone, and customer portals.
• Prioritize outreach using aging schedules and risk indicators, document all activities comprehensively.
• Cash Application & Dispute Resolution: Partner with Cash Application to reconcile misapplied payments, short pays, and remittance discrepancies. Investigate and resolve chargebacks, refunds, pricing errors, and credits.
• Maintain and analyze AR aging using Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data validation, conditional formatting).
• Prepare weekly metrics: DSO, percent current, >90-day trend, dispute cycle times.
• Identify root causes of recurring issues (e.g., pricing corrections, missing credits, open credit sweeps) and propose corrective actions.
• Contribute to SOP updates and knowledge bases.
• Government collections.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate brings solid collections experience.

• Intermediate Excel skills, including proficiency with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, are required.

Nice to Haves

• Experience working with the SAP ERG system is preferred, but this can be taught if necessary.
• Prefer that the candidate have some collection experience and MS Excel knowledge.
