Job summary

Highspring LLC (d/b/a Vaco by Highspring) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a small team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role focuses on directing day-to-day AP operations while driving process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of AP management, manufacturing knowledge, and strong Excel and JD Edwards skills to ensure accurate, timely payments and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of management experience leading multiple team members.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Strong accounts payable and accounting knowledge.
• Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in a shared services environment is a plus.
• Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 3-4 Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Oversee daily AP operations ensuring accurate, timely processing.
• Provide hands-on guidance to the AP team as needed.
• Monitor workflows, priorities, and deadlines for service levels.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiencies.
• Partner with internal departments and vendors to resolve issues.
• Help establish controls and processes within the AP function.
• Review team performance and workload for productivity.
• Train and coach team members to foster collaboration.
• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of AP activities.
• Utilize financial systems and Excel to analyze AP data.

Employment Type: Direct Hire
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site
Compensation: $90,000-$105,000 + discretionary bonus

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of 3-4 Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Oversee daily accounts payable operations and ensure accurate, timely processing.
• Provide hands‑on support and guidance to the AP team as needed.
• Monitor workflows, priorities, and deadlines to ensure a high level of service.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, procedures, and efficiencies.
• Partner with internal departments and vendors to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Help establish and maintain effective controls and processes within the AP function.
• Review and monitor team performance, workload, and productivity.
• Train, coach, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation related to accounts payable activities.
• Utilize financial systems and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze AP-related information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of management experience, including direct management of multiple team members.
• Previous manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong accounts payable and accounting knowledge.
• Experience working in a shared services environment is a significant plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with JD Edwards or a similar ERP system preferred.
• Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Hands‑on leadership style with a willingness to jump in and assist the team when needed.
