Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced AP Supervisor in Houston to lead the full-cycle accounts payable process and mentor AP staff within a growing, PE-backed organization. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in AP, prior supervisory experience, and strong Excel/ERP skills, with a readiness to drive process improvements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounts payable experience, preferably including construction, home services, or project-based industries.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle AP and month-end close processes.
• Demonstrated experience driving process/procedure improvements.
• Strong Excel skills; ERP/construction accounting software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, coding, and payment runs
• Lead, train, and mentor AP staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
• Oversee vendor management, including resolving discrepancies and maintaining strong vendor relationships
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities related to AP (accruals, reconciliations)
• Identify and implement process and procedure improvements within the AP function
• Assist with the design and enforcement of internal controls related to accounts payable
• Partner with project accounting/operations teams on job costing and vendor/subcontractor payment needs
• Support internal and external audit requests as needed
• Collaborate with the broader accounting team on reporting and process initiatives

We are currently seeking an experienced AP Supervisor to join our dynamic client in the residential services industry. This is a permanent position designed for a diligent, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounts payable and a passion for the construction industry. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day AP operations, supervise and mentor AP staff, and support vendor management, invoice processing, and the development and enforcement of internal control policies and procedures.
