Job summary

BMG in Beaverton, MI is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage daily payables, process invoices, and assist with month-end close. You will work with sales, purchasing, operations, and vendors to ensure accurate records and timely payments.

The role requires 2+ years AP experience, Excel and ERP skills, strong communication, and attention to detail. On-site position with standard manufacturing environment duties.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent required; some college education in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• 2+ years’ Accounts Payable experience preferred.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP Systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a customer-service orientation.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices.
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and documentation, including W-9 forms.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Support preparation of 1099 reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and purchasing policies.
• Provide backup support to Accounts Receivable Specialist.
• Communicate with customers regarding due and past due payments.
• Balance incoming cash and invoicing daily and maintain customer deposits.
• Assist in year-end audit requests.
