Job summary

PowerLines in Austin, Texas seeks a professional accountant to perform moderately complex accounting work in support of the Financial Resources Department. You will process, review, and reconcile accounting transactions, maintain records, monitor budgets, and prepare financial reports.

Under supervision, you will assist audits, support internal controls, and serve as backup for related fiscal functions. A bachelor’s degree and three years of experience are required; state government experience

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional accounting experience in AP, GL, reconciliations, or financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting and financial statements.
• Public sector or state government accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Enter, review, and reconcile financial transactions; research discrepancies.
• Monitor budget activity and assist with variances and reporting.
• Support audits, internal controls, and documentation requests.
