Job summary

Kobelco Aluminum Products and Extrusions seeks an accounting-support professional to assist with records for AR/AP and inventory, and to prepare journal entries for the general ledger. You will ensure vendor payments and reconcile accounts, while maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in accounting or higher and have 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment, with strong computer and math skills and experience using financial software.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Accounting or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong math and computer skills required
• Experience with financial software and general ledger processes

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in accounting software for general ledger balance
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, packing slips and purchase orders; maintain PO completion records
• Maintain vendor pay files and respond to invoice questions from vendors
• Keep financial information confidential and secure
• Prepare work by organizing and sorting documents and related information
• Process invoice payments; verify information and schedule disbursements
• Reconcile statements and transactions to verify accounts
• Investigate discrepancies, issue stop payments, adjust as needed
• Maintain internal controls and financial records by filing documents
• Additional duties as assigned
• Answer phones and assist with office supply orders
• Demonstrate self-starting, multi-tasking, detail orientation; strong computer and math skills
• Follow safety rules and Kaizen/5S procedures
