Job summary

Adams Thermal Systems, Inc is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Accounting team in Canton. The role covers daily AP tasks, vendor management, tax returns, 1099s, and audits. You will work under supervision within GAAP guidelines and contribute to financial reporting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting, strong Excel/MS Office skills, and experience with JD Edwards or XPPS. Manufacturing experience is a plus; excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with at least five years of accounting experience.
• Detail oriented with proficient data entry.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Experience with JD Edwards or XPPS preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable using accounting software and other programs.
• Verify transactions are reasonable and authorized.
• Research invoice discrepancies between suppliers and receiving.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineer on non-conforming or warranty products.
• Prepare monthly South Dakota Sales and Use Tax Return.
• Manage 1099 reporting process and IRS requirements.
• Audit employee expense reports for IRS compliance and ATS guidelines.
• Update AP work instructions and assist management on projects.
• Participate in year-end inventory and auditor schedules.
• Support other accounting duties as assigned.
