Job summary

Miller & Chevalier seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting team in Washington, DC. You will process invoices, check requests, and manage GL coding while communicating payment status to attorneys and staff.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of professional experience (law firm preferred) and familiarity with Chrome River, Elite Enterprise, and standard accounting procedures. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Chrome River and Elite Enterprise is a must.
• Five plus years of professional experience, law firm experience preferred.
• Must know basic accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax.
• Knowledge of 1099s and related filings.
• Experience with third-party software integrations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and check requests with proper GL coding.
• Respond to attorneys and staff regarding payment status.
• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close and audits.
• Maintain vendor records, 1099s, and W-9s; setup new vendors.
