Job summary

Serco Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to join our dynamic AP team. You will process vendor invoices, verify approvals, support EFT/ACH/wire and check payments, and assist with month-end close.

The role requires US Citizenship, a high school diploma, 3+ years in AP (preferably in US Federal contracting), and proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Word. You will work in Herndon office one day per week in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in US Federal contracting
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively across Finance, Procurement, Operations, and vendor organizations
• Ability to work in Herndon, VA corporate office one day per week

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely in AP systems.
• Verify invoice approvals, supporting documentation, purchase orders, and account coding prior to processing.
• Support EFT, ACH, wire, and check payment processing activities, ensuring internal controls and payment schedules.
• Assist with vendor payment inquiries and issue resolution.
• Monitor invoice queues and aging reports to meet payment terms and capture discounts.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with Procurement, Program Finance, Accounting, and vendors.
• Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audit requests with documentation and payment support.
• Maintain organized electronic records per retention requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, efficiency, and controls.
