Job summary

Jackson County is seeking a Finance & Purchasing professional to process and approve payment documents, distribute checks, and maintain payment records. You will enter and post journal entries, resolve discrepancies prior to payments, and manage voided checks.

A two-year AP background with at least 30 wpm typing is required, along with background and drug screening. Benefits include pension, health care, dental, and more.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of progressively responsible work experience in accounts payable.
• Must be able to type, minimum of 30 wpm.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the processing and/or approving payment documents and resolving discrepancies prior to payment.
• Responsible for distributing checks, filing payment documentation, and providing payment information upon request.
• Enters and posts journal entries; maintains journal entry records; enters/approves/posts various types of payments and resolving discrepancies prior to payment; and maintains voided checks.
