Job summary

Jackson County Missouri is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance/Accounting department. The role involves processing payment documents, coordinating activities to ensure timely invoice payments, and supervising the Accounts Payable Specialist.

Qualifications

Department: Finance/Accounting Grade:180 Salary: $24.06/hour

Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing and/or approving payment documents and resolving discrepancies prior to payment.
• Coordinate daily activities, monitor workflow, ensure all invoices are paid by the due date, distribute checks, and provide payment information upon request.
• Supervise and provide work direction to the Accounts Payable Specialist.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers by answering questions and training to ensure payment requests are accurate and completed properly.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field OR two years of progressively responsible work experience in accounts payable.
• Typing ability of 30 wpm is preferred.
• Must submit to and pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
