Nextaff is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for our Gulfport, MS CPA firm. The role focuses on managing the accounts payable process with accuracy and timeliness, collaborating with the accounting team to ensure policy compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in AP or bookkeeping, be proficient in QuickBooks, and possess strong Excel skills. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay and growth opportunities within a professional environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Experience in a CPA firm or professional services environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks experience is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments.
• Maintain vendor files and W-9 documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and payment inquiries.
• Assist with month-end closing and account reconciliations.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Support other accounting and administrative functions as needed.
