Job summary

Alter Trading Corporation is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist at our corporate office in St. Louis, MO. The role handles non-trade invoices and the full payable cycle, working with facilities to process payments and ensure compliance with company policy.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong math skills for fractions and percentages.
• Problem solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under limited supervision with interruptions.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Ability to work with vendors and manage aging issues.

Responsibilities

• Process and route non-trade invoices through electronic systems per guidelines.
• Make weekly payment runs through automated systems.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of invoice processing.
• Process check requests.
• Ensure sales and use tax accuracy for invoices.
• Correspond with vendor inquiries and take credits per statements.
• Ensure vendors provide completed W-9s.
• Research A/P aging with facilities to resolve aging issues.
• Process trade payments through the ERP system.
• Complete special projects as needed.
• Provide support to the A/P Supervisor.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.
