Job summary

Connect Search LLC is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract role in Southwest Houston. You will support a busy accounting team with invoice processing, reconciliations, purchasing card activity, and internal customer service.

This hands-on AP position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while communicating effectively with internal staff and external vendors. The role is 100% onsite.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing and AP workflows.
• Experience with purchase orders and invoice matching.
• Experience with P-cards / purchasing cards and corporate credit cards.

Responsibilities

• Process approximately 100-150 invoices per week.
• Monitor and manage multiple AP email inboxes.
• Review, code, and route invoices for proper approval.
• Perform purchase order matching and investigate invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate invoice and vendor records in the accounting system.
• Perform recurring P-card and corporate credit card reconciliations.
• Review purchasing card transactions and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Assist with employee expense-related activity and reimbursements.
• Use Excel, including PivotTables, to review coding and reconcile account activity.
• Respond to vendor and internal employee questions regarding invoices, approvals, and payment status.
• Research and resolve unmatched invoices, missing documentation, and account discrepancies.
• Assist with AP reconciliations and month-end support.
• Maintain organized documentation and follow established accounting procedures.
• Support the accounting team with additional projects and administrative needs during peak periods.
