Job summary

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our corporate team in Westchester, IL. The role supports day-to-day AP, credit card reconciliations, and other transactional tasks.

The position offers a Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm schedule with hybrid flexibility after training, onsite initially. Ideal candidates have an Associate degree or higher in Business/Accounting, at least 2 years in AP, and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
• 2 years of experience using financial/accounting software packages, preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
• Ability to follow up on pending issues.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes accounts payable in a timely manner.
• Codes invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests with correct codes.
• Handles vendor correspondence via phone or email.
• Investigates and resolves invoice processing problems.
• Prepares check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
• Reconciles accounts monthly and communicates discrepancies.
• Responds to auditors during external audit.
• Monitors Procurement Card program reporting.
• Performs other accounting duties as required.

We are looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to be based at the corporate office in Westchester, IL, just 5 miles away from Oak Brook. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, corporate credit card reconciliations, and various other transactional issues. The Accounts Payable Specialist must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction. The position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm and provide flexibility for a hybrid schedule once training has been completed onsite and individual meets expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes accounts payable in a timely manner.
• Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
• Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email.
• Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices.
• Prepares check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
• Reconciles various accounts monthly, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Controller.
• Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
• Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
• Assist in compiling information and preparing responses to auditors during the annual external audit.
• Assist with monitoring and reporting for the Procurement Card program.
• Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or Finance.

Pay Range: $22.50 - 26.50 per hour.Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity.
