Job summary

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, with locations in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Administrative Professional to coordinate communications between clinicians and patients and gather necessary data to support care.

This role, based primarily in Chicago and Oak Brook clinics with occasional travel to Munster, IN, runs Monday through Friday and requires strong organization, multitasking, and proficiency in Microsoft Office to keep schedules and patient flow efficient.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills within a team and with patients.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, including problem solving and prioritization.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for facilitating communication between clinicians and patients and obtaining necessary data from patients to best allow clinicians to provide excellent clinical care. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role. This role will primarily be based at the Chicago and Oakbrook, IL clinics however will require occasional travel to our Munster, IN clinic as well. The position works Monday - Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure patients receive the care they need
  • Help patients understand the Orthopedics services available to them
  • Assist patients with priority triage and scheduling
  • Answer telephone calls, route calls, provide information, take messages and check voicemails and emails in accordance with the practice procedure
  • Assist in scheduling and adjusting patient appointments to maximize patient care
  • Verify insurance
  • Prepare clinic day in EMR system and in the office
  • Maintain the clinic and OR schedule
  • Triage and respond to online inquiring to determine patient suitability for our practice and scheduling
  • Assist with maintaining all materials needed for patient care
  • Assist with surgical scheduling on clinic days

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills both within the team and to patients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment including problem solving, decision making, strategic thinking, planning, communication, results driven and performance management while displaying leadership
  • Superior organization skills including but not limited to ability to prioritize tasks presented
  • Good phone skills – clear, easy to understand, reliable with following up as needed, good conflict-resolution skills to handle possible patient situations in a nationally ranked Orthopedic Office.

Pay Range: $23-$26 per hour.Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity.
