Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team in Pleasant Valley, MO. The role focuses on accurate processing of vendor invoices, large-volume AP transactions, and strong GL oversight to support month-end and year-end closings.

The ideal candidate will have deep AP and GL experience, be detail-oriented, and able to collaborate with procurement and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or a related field with significant exposure to general ledger processes.
• Proven experience handling large volume transactions within an accounts payable function.
• Strong understanding of general ledger principles and accounting best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt to changing processes and technology within the accounting field.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounts payable handling from invoice receipt to payment processing.
• Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts associated with accounts payable and ensure proper coding.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable transactions.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while processing accounts payable.
• Collaborate with procurement to resolve discrepancies with purchase orders and invoices.
• Maintain and update vendor records with current data.
• Prepare and assist with audits, providing documentation and reports.
• Work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and resolve issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the accounting department.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with general ledger accounting, particularly in handling large volumes of transactions. This role requires a proactive individual with an ability to ensure accurate, timely processing of vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounts payable
